My last few days in Virginia Beach have been nothing if not hectic. The only thought that keeps me going is knowing there is a light at the end of the tunnel.... A kayak trip like none other!
It seems like only yesterday my mother and I were seriously considering kayaking around Lake Superior. Now here we are, just over a week from our June 12th launch date and many many hours of driving in between.
Tomorrow I am moving out of my apartment. Wednesday is my last tour at Wild River Outfitters for a while and then Thursday starts the trek north. My other two kayaks (Romany and Avocet) are going to spend the summer in New Hampshire with my brother... along with the Jeep and Wrangler, my little Boston Terrier. From New Hampshire we head back west to Michigan.
Once back in Michigan, it will be high time to take our lake going vessel out for a test run. Our implement of destruction is none other than a Current Designs Unity tandem kayak. Stay tuned because I am sure there will be stories and pictures of our superior paddle. Not to mention the driving...
